Stormdry is a BBA approved colourless deep penetrating water repellent cream for brick, stone, and concrete. Due to its cream-based formulation it is able to penetrate more deeply into masonry than standard liquid-applied brick sealer products and is a one coat applications.
Protects against penetrating damp, improves thermal efficiency (energy savings) and has a life expectancy of 20-30 years.
Stormdry is easy to apply using a brush or roller and only a single coat application is required - many competing water repellent products require two coats.
Coverage: 24sq mts per 5L
Pack size: 5L
Breathable and Colourless
Stormdry's silane/siloxane technology works by lining the pores of porous bricks, rather than blocking them - allowing the wall to continue to breathe. This is in contrast to many standard brick sealer products, which coat the masonry with a thin film
Stormdry has been specially formulated to be colourless once dry, which allows the walls to retain their original appearance once protected against penetrating damp.
25 Year protection in a Single Coat
BBA testing showed that Stormdry Water Repellent Cream offers 25 year protection against penetrating damp. Its cream formulation allows it to penetrate deeper into porous bricks than standard brick sealants. For this reason Stormdry saves time and hassle by only requiring one coat, where other products require two or more.
Energy Saving
By providing in-depth protection against moisture ingress, Stormdry is able to save energy. Tests carried out by the University of Portsmouth demonstrate that energy savings of up to 29% are possible by keeping walls dry using Stormdry. This is because dry walls are better insulators than wet walls.
Freeze/thaw resistance
BBA testing showed that Stormdry is resistant to the effects of freeze/thaw cycling. By preventing water ingress into walls, Stormdry reduces the risk of spalling bricks.
Stormdry treated masonry can be over-painted with a water based exterior grade emulsion masonry paint. This should be done within 3-10 days of the Stormdry application, if this is left any longer the surface beading which develops can inhibit the paint adhering to the surface.
